Bigneat has been acquired by Caron Products & Services

Arrowpoint Advisory’s Industrial sector team has advised leading laboratory sciences and technology investor SFW Capital Partners on the acquisition of Bigneat Limited through its portfolio company Caron Products & Services Inc.

The transaction will create a leading transatlantic laboratory equipment manufacturer well-positioned to benefit from rapidly growing areas of life sciences including vaccine development and cell and gene therapeutics as well as the growth of lab automation.

Founded in 1972, Bigneat is a specialist provider of high-performance laboratory safety solutions to the Pharma sector producing a range of products including fume cupboards, automation enclosures, biological safety cabinets and other extraction technologies. The business has been successful in selling both standard and bespoke laboratory equipment to global pharmaceutical and biopharma companies as well as distributors across Europe and North America.

Following the acquisition, the combined group will have leading positions in the North American and UK markets, with strong potential for cross-selling both product sets in all markets.

Graham Carberry, Managing Director at Arrowpoint Advisory, commented: “This is an important first step in SFW’s strategy to develop Caron into a world-leading lab equipment business. The two companies have highly complementary customer and product sets and this deal really establishes Caron as an important international partner for an array of major blue-chip customers.”

Tom Smith, Director at Arrowpoint Advisory concluded: “We were very pleased to work with SFW and the Caron team as they build out another leading platform in the rapidly growing test and measurement sector, which remains a key focus for our team. In Bigneat, they have acquired a company perfectly poised to benefit from some of the most positive drivers across life science.”
